About Department

The department of EEE, established in 2014 with the approval of AICTE, is set in an open, student friendly atmosphere. We have a fine blend of dynamic and experienced faculty who provide quality education at UG level. With VISVESVARAYA TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY curriculum, the Department places equal emphasis on theoretical and practical domains of electrical and electronics engineering. The laboratories are highly modernized to reflect the rapidly changing trends in technology. The Department has well qualified faculty and excellent facilities for research. The faculty and students have publications in the reputed National and International Journals.


Electrical engineers generally design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacture of electrical equipment. Some of the equipments include electric motors; machinery controls, lighting, and wiring in buildings; radar and navigation systems; power generation, controlling and transmission devices used by electric utilities. Electrical engineering focuses on the generation and supply of Electric power, whereas electronics engineering is the application of electricity to control systems or signal processing. Electrical & Electrical engineers specialize in areas such as power systems engineering or electrical equipment manufacturing, signal processing and control systems.


Job opportunities
Obtaining an engineering degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering will open the door to many opportunities. In today’s high-tech world, this engineering degree is a great foundation for careers in traditional engineering fields as well as for careers in management, sales, government, medicine, research, teaching and more. A recent survey conducted by the Association of Electrical Engineers says that by 2020 there will be a requirement of more than 1,00,000 EEE graduates every year in India alone.

Infrastructure
The laboratory infrastructure of the department is excellent with state of art equipments and software related to the field of Engineering. The extensive facilities available in the laboratories can be utilized for research work, in addition to the lab courses as per the affiliating university requirement for UG. The department has spacious classrooms, seminar hall, and a well-equipped laboratory. The department has a dedicated computer lab with 40 systems, all in a networked environment with un-interrupted power supply. These systems have the recent and most updated Software. The role of a library is critical in making a knowledge society. So the department functions with a library with a collection of standard books for the faculty and students to refer and enhance their knowledge. The department Library collection also includes DVDs in various subjects as per the academic syllabus.

Welcome to Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department, Proudhadevaraya Institute of Technology Engineering College.

At undergraduate level we have programs in Bachelor of Engineering. At present we have faculties having expertise in different specializations. The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart technical skills among students and promote their problem solving capabilities that include hands-on experience by the faculty.

We strive our best to ensure that all our students gain strong academic foundation where they can develop technical, leadership skills and involve themselves in extracurricular activities as well. We believe that emphasizing in these areas will make our students well equipped to take leadership roles in the near future. Students are encouraged to undertake various research projects in their academic course. Faculties of our department have authored many papers in their research fields.

Engineering graduate will be able to:

1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and anengineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research- based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
