Inaugural Ceremony of three days state level workshop on   ‘Aircraft & Aerospace Engineering’

“Government keen in Supporting Aircraft industry”

  Government of Karnataka has a good support in the field of ‘Aircraft & Aerospace Engineering. Efforts are on to make India capable of manufacturing and also to the level of exporting of indigenous aircraft in near future ‘ Aviation scientist Dr K Badari Narayana opined on the occasion the opening  three days state level workshop on ‘Aircraft & Aerospace Engineering’ organized in Proudhadevaraya Institute of Technology jointly organized with ‘Centre of Excellence in Aerospace & Defence, VTU Regional Office Bengaluru’.

He further said, ‘Safety has the highest priority in the aviation field and there are very few agencies to certify the Aircraft on global scale.  Hence students of all branches can explore the career opportunities in this rare growing field.  Dassault sytems Company has evolved 3D software which enables aviational design, manufacturing and safety with its full proof technical feasibility

Speaking on this occasion Aviation expert Sri Goutham K S opined that’ this workshop in interdisciplinary in nature and the present research need the cohesive efforts of all the stream of technical expertise.’

Delivering the presidential address, the Governing body member of PDIT Sri Ekamaresh A Tandur said, ‘the gap between the academics and the need of the industry is widening.  Students should not be deprived from the new horizons of the knowledge.  Such workshops will act as finishing school to aid the need of the industry.’

Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr S M Shashidhar said,’ Ballari  has is a hub  growing  Industry sector and plenty of land has been acquired by the  state government for Industrial purpose. This can be utilized to erect spare part industries needed for the aviation field.  Exponential rise of vehicular population has led to the traffic jams. Hence to subside this problem, support should be given to the growth of domestic aviation in this prime Hyerabad Karnataka region.

Shri Movin Furtado, Head of Mechanical Engg Dr B H Manjunath, Head of Electrical & Electronics Engg Prof Madhwaraj, addressed the gathering.

Student of Mechanical Engg Sri Praveen delivered the prayer song.  Prof S G Basavaraju welcomed the gathering.  Prof Firdouse Parvin and Prof Vani R G anchored the program.  Dr Veerbhadrappa Algur delivered vote of thanks. Over 150 students from different engineering colleges across the state are participating in this workshop.
