About Department

Mechanical Engineering is perhaps the most diverse and versatile of the engineering disciplines. In addition to physics and mathematics, it encompasses key elements of aerospace, electrical, civil, chemical and even materials science and bio-engineering. Mechanical engineering touches virtually every aspect of modern life, from mobile phones and biomedical devices, to aircrafts and power plants. Not only engineering, mechanical engineers deal with economic issues, from the cost of a single component, to the economic impact of a manufacturing plant. Besides this, mechanical engineers can also be found in sales, engineering management, and corporate management. Versatility is another unique advantage in a world that is undergoing constant economic, political, industrial, and social change. Mechanical engineers are educated and positioned, not only to adapt, but to define and direct change.

At department of mechanical engineering students are educated not only by teaching- learning but also through the real time projects from industries
Department students are getting ranks at university level almost every year. Students are deputed to be part of National / International conferences. As a part of co-curricular activities students of the department are visiting Automotive, Steel Industries and Machine Tool and other allied mechanical engineering industries

Welcome to Mechanical Engineering Department, Proudhadevaraya Institute of Technology Engineering College.

We started our journey in the year 1997 and over the decades, we have grown our expertise and competence in Mechanical Engineering and Research. At undergraduate level we have programs in Bachelor of Engineering. At present we have faculties having expertise in different specializations. The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart technical skills among students and promote their problem solving capabilities that include hands-on experience by the faculty.

We strive our best to ensure that all our students gain strong academic foundation where they can develop technical, leadership skills and involve themselves in extracurricular activities as well. We believe that emphasizing in these areas will make our students well equipped to take leadership roles in the near future. Students are encouraged to undertake various research projects in their academic course. Faculties of our department have authored many papers in their research fields.

Our website provides the complete picture of the academic program, details of student activities, workshops and seminars conducted profiles of faculty members and newsletters of the department. We hope that the visitor finds the website sufficiently informative.

Department always looks forward in contributing to the welfare of engineering society with active participation.
