The Department of Physics at the Proudhadevaraya Institute of Technology Hosapete, has highly active and vibrant faculty members committed to impart high quality education for the first year BE students of all the branches. The department offers Engineering Physics Theory and Laboratory courses for the First year B.E students of all branches. Department laboratory is very spacious and well established with latest & modern equipments to provide good hands-on experience to students. The Department has been getting excellent results both in theory and practical examinations. 

Further, our department is recognized as a Physics research centre by the VTU. Presently 02 part time research scholars have been registered for Ph.D. and active research is in the field of Materials Science.

The department has a two-teaching staff along with good supporting Non-teaching staffs, one Asst. Instructor and one Helper. There is good cooperation between the teaching and non-teaching faculty.
